Here are the highlights of a green project at Services Paysagers Dominique Filion:

Reduction of heat islands:

• Use of light colored paving stones/slabs to reflect light;
• Vegetated roof to create an insulating effect (temperature control in the building), increase biodiversity and reduce GHG.

Water management :

• Channeling of runoff water to dry wells;
• Use of permeable pavement, replacing conventional practice (asphalt/concrete pavement) to reduce water runoff, allow percolation into the ground as well as recharge the water table.

Vegetation:

• Planting of trees to increase canopies (e.g. shading on parking lots), promote biodiversity and reduce GHGs;
• Planting perennials and shrubs reduces ambient noise, provides insulation and an effervescent living space for pollinators.

Materials :

• Minimize ecological footprint by using natural materials; cedar wood, natural stone, etc.
• Use of sustainable materials; precast concrete, composite wood, etc.

It should be noted that since 2020, our company has held the CARBORESPONSABLE for having met all the requirements of the organization Enviro-accès inc.

In addition, Dominique Filion Landscape Services is among the experts in eco-responsible landscaping design and implementation listed in the SchoolFinder Fund directory. As such, our services could be financed as part of a project submitted to the Fonds Écoleader funding program.
